Executive Order Pauses Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Enforcement
On February 10, 2025, President Trump issued an Executive Order pausing enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) for 180 days. During this time, the Attorney General is directed to (a) cease initiation of new FCPA investigations or enforcement actions; (2) review existing enforcement actions; and (2) issue updated guidelines. Treasury Suspends Corporate Transparency Act Reporting Deadline for U.S. Companies and Citizens
The Treasury Department recently announced it is suspending the March 21, 2025 deadline for filing under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) for any domestic companies or U.S. citizens. The Department indicated forthcoming rulemaking to narrow the scope of the rule to foreign reporting companies only.
