Alexandra Bass is an associate supporting clients primarily within the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group. Alexandra joined the firm after working as a summer associate in 2022, where she assisted attorneys with legal research on various matters, ranging from defamation to wrongful convictions and federal legislation.
Alexandra earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she furthered her legal research and writing skills serving as a research assistant for multiple professors, most notably assisting the Law Dean, Lyrissa Lidsky, on the Restatement Third of Torts: Defamation. Alexandra also served as a teaching assistant for Legal Research and Writing, where she helped first-year law students gain foundational legal skills. While in law school, Alexandra continued to hone her research and writing skills by participating in the American Bar Association (ABA) First Amendment and Media Law Diversity Moot Court and the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition. In her final year of law school, Alexandra was admitted into the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law’s Chapter of The Order of Barristers, a national honorary organization that recognizes individuals who excel in advocacy. Alexandra also served as Vice President of the Black Law Students Association, and as Public Relations Director on the University of Missouri School of Law Board of Advocates.
Prior to joining Lathrop GPM, Alexandra served as a legal intern with the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the press, and as a legal and policy intern at the ACLU of Oregon, where she focused largely on protecting First Amendment rights and data privacy matters. Alexandra is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
